I love living in Whitewater and teaching for the Whitewater Unified School District. It is a wonderful community with many opportunities to offer. It is so much fun to see present and past students at the store, in plays, or at sporting events. I can't imagine a better place to live and work!
“What I enjoy best about this profession is each day brings new excitement and challenges. I feel honored to teach in the Whitewater School District with supportive administrators, teachers and parents.” That is why I like Whitewater.
I am second/third grade teacher at Lincs Charter Elementary School. I joined the staff of the Whitewater Unified School district shortly after graduating from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, with an elementary education major.
In addition to my classroom responsibilities, I have served on the Professional Staff Evaluation committee, Lincoln Elementary School Leadership Team, POPS Committee Chairperson; and I have also participated in summer curriculum writing. I have been a mentor several times and have had numerous volunteers, field study students, and student teachers.
I have been named to Who’s Who in Education in 2005
I have also been active in the Whitewater community. I have served on the Whitewater 4th of July Committee and was the Co-chairperson. I was the President of the Whitewater Jaycees and served as a member of the City Library Board. I have also served on several church committees. I am current member of Alpha Kappa Gamma which promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. I am also a member of a Philanthropic Education Organization which brings women increased opportunities in higher education.
I received my Masters degree in Education at Cardinal Stritch University in Dec. of 2006. My thesis was on graphic organizers.
My love for teaching started at an early age, inspired by my father and my elementary school teachers. “What I enjoy best about this profession is each day brings new excitement and challenges. I feel honored to teach in the Whitewater School District with supportive administrators, teachers and parents.”
I am married and have two children. Both of my children attended Lincoln School. We love living in Whitewater. It is a wonderful community with many opportunities to offer. I can't imagine a better place to live and work!
When not teaching, I enjoy walking, attending sporting events at the High School, and spending time with my family.
