LINCS 5th Grade Choir 2019-2020

LINCS 5th Grade Choir is 59 voices strong this year! We will be performing several concerts this year with our first on Tuesday, December 17. Our Spring Concert is May 19. 2020. We will join with Lakeview and Washington choirs for a matinee concert at 1:30 and an evening concert at 7:00 p.m. Both concerts will held at the high school auditorium. Canned goods for the Whitewater Food Pantry will be collected at the door.

Every spring the choir presents a concert tour for the Whitewater retirement centers - Fairhaven, Mulberry Glen, Blackhawk and Brookdale. A CD is recorded of our favorite pieces and each choir member receives one at the end of the year.

Concert attire is black pants or skirt and an all white shirt or blouse. Boys may wear ties.

The choir prides itself in singing many styles and languages with beautiful, tuneful voices.

Concerts may be seen on the Whitewater local cable station, channel 980.
Dear Lincoln 5th Grade Choir,
I know we are all disappointed that we are not preparing for concerts right now, but I hope you will take some time to think about the music we have been working on and fill out this reflection sheet below.  Find some of the pieces on line for fun and listen to the different versions.  Feel free to copy and paste your responses in an email back to me.

5th GRADE CHOIR SPRING CONCERT REFLECTION

Directions:  Please construct a well written short paragraph (approx. 5 sentences long) about your favorite piece on this concert. You do not have to write about each piece-please choose and focus on one. Feel free to research and include additional historical background information about the piece! This can be especially interesting and helpful to audience members.  While you are writing your paragraph, I’d like you to consider the following questions:

1. What is your favorite piece at our Spring Concert? (tell us the Title & Composer)

2. What is unique or interesting about this piece? Is there a significant historical event or symbol that goes with the piece?

3. What skill, concept, or technique did you improve on the most while rehearsing this  piece?  What was new within this piece/how are you a stronger musician because of it?

4. What should the audience specifically listen for?

5th Grade Choir Concert Pieces (google the pieces with the composer to find YouTube videos to play along and listen at home)!!

Didn’t My Lord Deliver Daniel - Roger Emerson

El Vito - arranged by Emily Crocker

Hotaru Koi (Japanese Round)

Email your paragraph to your music teacher- we’d love to hear from you!!
