Chelsey Resler

Hi there!
My name is Chelsey Resler  (Sprtel) and I am a special education teacher at Lincoln Elementary School!  I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in May of 2015, with a dual major in Elementary Education as well as Special Education and an emphasis in Emotional and Behavioral Disabilities.  This is my fourth school year at LINCS and prior to joining the Whitewater family, I was a special education teacher for the Milwaukee Public School District!

Why Whitewater?
I currently live in the town of Lake Geneva with my husband, Kyle.  We recently got married in October of 2019 and are enjoying this next chapter of our lives! After moving to Lake Geneva from Milwaukee, the Whitewater School District stood out to me as place I would love to continue my career.  I could not have been more right - I truly love Lincoln, the Whitewater School District and the community!

My Teaching Philosophy
Having the opportunity to shape the knowledge of children is both a blessing as well as a gift.  Helping children become the best they can be, inside and outside the classroom, begins with the child themselves.  My personal philosophy of education begins with viewing each child as an individual. Not one of those individuals will learn and interpret information in exactly the same way, which is why differentiation is vital in the school setting.  It is also my belief that success in the classroom depends heavily on relationships as well as rapport, and communication.  It is my goal to make each of my students feel safe, comfortable, unique as well as inspired in my classroom!  It is my belief that those qualities stem from the relationships that I build with each and everyone of my students!

I encourage and pride myself on having an open line of communication with not only the students and staff I work with, but parents and parental guardians as well!  If at any time you have any questions, concerns or are just in need of a friendly support system, please do not hesitate to contact me!
